I am a Vietnamese-American UX designer pursuing a Masters in user-centered agile development at the University of Michigan School of Information.
One of my favorite ways to connect with people is through learning new languages. Currently I’m focusing on studying Korean and Mandarin, but I am always interested in exploring new languages. This passion for connection and understanding others is at the core of what motivates me as a designer.
A project I am working on at the moment is conducting a linguistic-anthropology study with collaborators from UCLA and Texas A&M University, investigating the role of grammatical gender in language, currently focusing on Spanish, Turkish, Armenian, and Kazakh speakers.
Some of my hobbies include digital art, playing violin or piano, and figuring out film photography. Regardless of the medium, telling a story and conveying emotion is an important part of my creative process that I bring into all of my design projects.
